WIBTR 6th Boston Terrier Quilt Project Attention all you quilters, and sewers! Wisconsin Boston Terrier Rescue is requesting anyone that has any sewing ability, and has an interest in Boston Terriers, help us with our biggest fundraiser of the year! We are requesting quilt squares, (instructions are detailed below,) be sent to us so we can put together and raffle off a once in a life time heirloom quilt! You can see the other quilts we have raffled off in the previous years HERE So we are requesting any of you quilters and sewers to read the instructions below, or you other Boston Lovers to send them to your friends or family that sew, and get those quilt squares coming!!! We hope to start raffling it off early next year, 2009. Just think, you could end up with a heirloom Boston Terrier Quilt for only a couple of dollars! Please contact me with any questions or comments. Oh, and feel free to cross post to as many Boston Lists as you can! Jodi LeMoine jlemoine@new.rr.com 651 DePere Street Menasha, WI 54952 These are some guidelines for you to follow when you make your squares: 1. ******This one is the most important. The finished square should measure at least 12 ˝” inches square. This is the most important one! It cannot be less then 12 ˝” square, but if it is, I will try and add a border to make it the right size, if it is bigger than 12 ˝” by 12 ˝” I can cut and size it down to the proper size so don’t worry if it is a bit bigger. 2. Please use cotton or cotton/polyester blend good quality fabrics. Avoid fabrics that feel stiff, or are loosely woven or stretchy. 3. Do what ever you want on them! Have fun, and don’t worry if you haven’t done this before it is going to be great. 4. Please choose colors that aren’t too extreme? Try to stay away from the fluorescent colors; or too bright colors they are hard to blend in with the other colors. If the squares are more neutral the overall quilt will look better! 5. And feel free to make more then “one”-quilt square!! LOL! I plan on it being for a queen sized bed so the finished quilt should measure some where around 90” x 100”, but it will depend a bit on how many squares we get. I really need to get about 25-30 squares total. The deadline for getting a quilt square to me is December 15th, 2008. I hope to finish the quilt in about 1 month, after I receive all the blocks, I will post the Quilt Raffle, and will give information on buying raffle tickets to win it. I will keep you all updated as we begin to progress on this great fund-raiser and thanks again for working with me on this!!!!!! Thank you again everyone! Sincerely, Jodi LeMoine and Wisconsin Boston Terrier Rescue P.S. I am very grateful and thankful to everyone that participated last year, whether you made a square or bought raffle tickets. We were able to raise a total of $2,252.00!!! |
